Quick and Easy Banana Bread

Updated: Mar 4, 2021

Do you ever find yourself throwing away bananas because they've gone bad? I used to but then I started making this really easy banana bread which turns wasted bananas into a perfect loaf. Here's all you need to make your banana bread, hope you enjoy!

Banana Bread:

Ingredients:

  • 3 to 4 ripe bananas (let them get really ugly and black, the more ripe they are the better the bread comes out)

  • 1/3 cup of unsalted butter (melted)

  • 1 egg

  • 3/4 cup of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 1/2 cups of flour

  • Chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350° F. Grab a bowl and a fork and peel the ripe bananas and put them in the bowl (yes, throw out the skin). Mash the bananas thoroughly with a fork until its pretty smooth (doesn't have too many chunks). Add the melted butter, egg, sugar, vanilla, baking soda, and salt. Mix it all together, the result should be a pretty smooth and watery consistency. Add the flour and mix, at this point I always switch to a spatula because its a bit easier but up to you! Mix throughly so that you don't see anymore white from the flour, the result should be a much thicker consistency.

Optional: Add chocolate chips, raisins, honestly whatever you want, m&ms work too, blueberries. Or you can just leave it bare. Just eyeball it depending on how chocolatey you want it to be.

Spray a bread-shaped pan with Baking Pam or you can butter it. I usually buy the aluminum trays from publix so I dont have to wash anything. Transfer from the bowl to the pan and put it in the oven uncovered for 45 min - 1 hour. My trick to always getting the right amount of baking is I set a timer for 45 min. after that time has passed I put a toothpick if it comes out very liquidy, leave it for the extra 15 min. If it only comes out semi-liquidy leave the bread in there for the 15 min. but with the oven OFF.

And that's it! Quick, easy, and delicious. Hope you enjoy and don't forget to tag me if you use the recipe and I will repost you (:
